The programme was created by Clare-Louise Shaw who drew inspiration from her experiences as a BBC Classical Music Television presenter, her music degree, and her children. All our teachers are Music Graduates so they’re able to call on a huge bank of knowledge when talking about the repertoire. Our accompanists are trained at world renowned conservatoires.
CLARE-LOUISE SHAW (née Stuart)
VIOLIN & CLARINET
Mini Mozart is the brainchild of Clare-Louise Stuart. Before having Oliver & Luella in 2004 & 2006, Clare notched up music scholarships at Uppingham School & Berklee College of Music in the USA, and a music degree from Newcastle University.
Clare fell in love with working with children and music when she was a singer at the Disneyland Hotel, Paris during her gap year. Since then, alongside her singing, she worked at the BBC Symphony Orchestra, winding up as a TV presenter for programmes like The Proms and Young Musician of the Year. Mini Mozart is the culmination of all this: Musicianship, Presenting & Parenting.
KATIE BRYERS (Equity name Katie Pattinson)
VIOLIN & RECORDER
Katie has worked professionally as an actor musician for the last 11 years. Having graduated from Cambridge University she won a scholarship to study Acting and Musical Theatre at Mountview Theatre School and has since then had a wonderful time playing theatres across the world, from as far a field as Hong Kong to the Arctic Circle to the West End! Having had her most important productions to date (ie Luke & Ella), Katie is enjoying being closer to home and is delighted to be teaching Mini Mozart in Maida Vale where she gets to be a big kid all over again!
LAETITIA STOTT
FRENCH HORN & VIOLIN
Letty is a professional musician and workshop leader. Currently approaching the end of a Masters course in Music Leadership at the Guildhall School of Music, she has led creative projects all over the world (South-East Asia, Africa and Palestine to name a few from the last year!). Before this Letty held scholarships at Cambridge and Oxford universities and carried out research in the psychology of music (you may have heard of the Mozart Effect!).
Her plan is now to show as many children as possible how great the French horn is and to get as many elephant noises into Mini Mozart sessions as possible!
ELLIE MOORE
VIOLIN
Ellie holds a 1st Class degree in Drama with Music from The University of Huddersfield. Following University she decided to specialise in Drama, graduating in July 2009 from Arts Educational Schools London with an MA in Acting.
Since leaving Drama School, she has combined her acting and musical skills as well as her love of performance, touring with The Young Shakespeare Company in Autumn 2009. She is delighted to have trained as a Mini Mozart Teacher to continue her work as an Actor-Musician in an educational context.
LUCY ABBS
VIOLIN, CLARINET, SAXOPHONES & RECORDERS
Lucy’s passion for theatre and music won her a scholarship to study at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, graduating in 2008 with a BA Hons degree in Musical Theatre and Acting.
Since then, Lucy has worked with professional theatre companies in musicals plays and pantomimes. During her time at Mountview, she began teaching singing, dance and acting to young children, but it was while an actor/musician in the cast of the UK No1 tour of Roald Dahl’s The BFG that she began to appreciate just how much pleasure and satisfaction there was in sharing her artistic passions with young children.
Lucy is delighted to be a Mini Mozart Practitioner and looks relishes helping develop a love of music, in young and receptive minds.
